The Central Bureau of Investigation arrested eight people after detecting a multi-state racket offering "confirmed" seats in medical courses. According to the sources, each seat cost around  â‚¹ 20 lakh, of which 5 lakh was given to the individual who impersonated the student and attended the NEET examination. The mastermind of the racket has been identified as Sushil Rajan, who deputed paper solvers and accepted payments.

On Monday, the agency arrested six of the eight individuals involved in the racket. The agency has decided to speak with the candidates and further investigate the role of coaching institutes in the scam. To prevent cheating during the NEET exam, authorities have strengthened their security checks and candidates were not allowed to carry stationery or wear jewelry, belts, caps, etc. But the mastermind behind the racket managed to tweak NEET identity cards using morphed photographs, so, that paper solvers could gain entrance into the exam hall.
